Post Treatment

You have received an intravenous (IV) micronutrient therapy treatment allowing fluids and micronutrients to enter the bloodstream through a small catheter inserted in a vein. The IV is typically placed on the inside of the elbow, on the forearm or in the back of the hand. The insertion site may be tender for a while post treatment, please be careful.

At Home Care
  • Check the area for bruising or welling for a few days after you get home.

  • If you have bruising or swelling, put ice or a cold pack on the area for 10 to 20 minutes at a time.

  • Put a thin cloth between the ice and your skin.

  • Shower or bathe as usual.

  • Be gentle using the area around the IV site for a day or two.

  • Normal activity can be resumed as tolerated.
